ME 1748
Title:  ME 1748
Description:  A former member of NJ Transit's Comet I fleet found its way to the Rockland Branch in later years. Built in the 1970s by Pullman-Standard, this car was purchased by the State of New Jersey for the Erie Lackawanna diesel powered commuter operations out of Hoboken to replace older equipment. Retired by NJ Transit in the mid 2000s, this car was one of a few that came to the Morristown & Erie shortly after. The coach still retains the lower vestibule doors that were a characteristic of this fleet. The EL did not have high level platforms at its stations back in those days.
