Title:  SEPTA Signage
Description:  Underneath the station roof at Cheyney hangs a reminder of this line's history as a commuter route between West Chester and 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. Passenger service to the city ended in 1986 when SEPTA cut the western end of the R3 line back to Elwyn.

Old Station
Title:  Old Station
Description:  The old railroad depot at Cheyney now serves the community as a branch of the US Postal Service. The station was constructed in 1900 by the Philadelphia Wilmington & Baltimore Railroad to serve passengers from this small community, later becoming part of the Pennsylvania Railroad system. After many years of seeing trains of electric MP-54 MU cars in both Tuscan red and PC green, the station now has the passage of WCRL excursion runs with their consist of former RDG Blueliner MUs.

Title:  WCRL 9114
Description:  The quiet around the Cheyney depot is briefly shattered by the passing 2PM departure from West Chester. The consist, led by former Reading Blueliner MU 9114, now an unpowered cab car, brings back memories of the Electric MU trains that would call at this station under the PRR. Note the old catenary pole above the train in the background that once supported the wires for electric operations to and from Philadelphia.

Title:  WCRL 9124
Description:  Former Reading Company Blueliner MU 9124, originally Reading Company 869, built by Harlan & Hollingsworth in 1932. Acquired by West Chester from the now defunct Avondale Railroad Center once located along the former PRR Octoraro Branch.

WCRL 3
Title:  WCRL 3
Description:  Partially hidden behind a former Reading Company MU is the the West Chester's 1949 built Alco S-2. Constructed for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway as their number 5026, the locomotive later went to the Baltimore & Ohio as number 9115. The unit has also seen service with the Rohm & Haas Company as well as on the Wilmington & Western Railroad of Marshalton, DE before coming to West Chester in the late 1990s.

WCRL 6499
Title:  WCRL 6499
Description:  One of two locomotives on the West Chester's roster with B&O heritage, this GP-9 was constructed in 1956 and served it original owner until the 1980s. After a period on the Ohio Central, the locomotive came to the West Chester and was repainted into a Pennsylvania Railroad paint scheme for a few years before restoration to its current look. The locomotive has recently been refurbished to provide many more years of service for the railroad.
