SNC 52
Title:  SNC 52
Description:  One of the Saratoga & North Creek's rare BL-2s idles at the station awaiting its next move. The locomotive was built by EMD in 1949, one of eight constructed for the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad. Originally BAR 552, the first 5 in its road number would later be dropped. After working in the Pine Tree State for many years, the unit would migrate to private ownership in Wisconsin, where it was repainted as Janesville & Southeastern 52. It would be displayed with sister unit 56 at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay for a time before being acquired by Iowa Pacific, refurbished, and sent to the former D&H Adirondack Branch as SNC 52. It now serves in both freight and passenger duties on this upstate New York shortline.

Down At The Depot
Title:  Down At The Depot
Description:  SNC 52, in its D&H inspired paint scheme, looks right at home next to the historic North Creek depot. The station itself was constructed in 1874 by the Adirondack Railway and later came under the full control of the Delaware & Hudson in 1902. Perhaps the most well known event in this station's history is when vice president Theodore Roosevelt arrived and learned that he was now the President of the United States after President William McKinley passed following an assassination attempt at the Pan American Expo in Buffalo. Roosevelt boarded a special train here headed for Buffalo and was later sworn in as the next President. In 1976, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

SNC 52
Title:  SNC 52
Description:  Saratoga & North Creek Railway BL-2 52 was built in 1949 by EMD for northern Maine's Bangor & Aroostook Railroad, where it served into the 1980s hauling freight, mainly agricultural and forest products. Iowa Pacific acquired the unit for the start of the SNC operation from a private owner who had it stored at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, WI for many years. It was restored to operation and given a new paint job in the midwest before heading east to the former D&H Adirondack branch, where it has since become one of the main locomotives used for the operation.

SNC 56
Title:  SNC 56
Description:  The SNC's other BL-2, wearing a slightly different variation of the road's paint scheme. The unit, which has yet to be put into service on the former Adirondack Branch, was one of the last two BL-2s constructed for the Bangor & Aroostook in 1949. Originally BAR 556, and later renumbered 56, this unit would be one of two BL-2s lightened by ten tons in order to be operated over the Bunker Brook trestle on the Greenville Branch. Later sold into private ownership, it would be displayed in faded BAR blue at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, WI with sister unit 52 until it was acquired by Iowa Pacific.
