VTR 301 |
Description: |
Another GP40 that would soon leave Vermont for GMTX lease service, VTR 301 was constructed in the spring of 1967 by EMD for the Atlanta & West Point Railroad as their number 701. It would also serve on the Seaboard System and later CSX before coming north to join the Vermont Railway fleet. |

GMRC 304 |
Description: |
A former B&O unit in Vermont, this one coming from EMD in 1971. It also spent some time on CSX and as a lease unit before coming to the roster of the VRS. It was one of three 1970s era GP40s to wear the Green Mountain color scheme, although its service area was certainly not limited to the old Rutland line between Bellows Falls and their namesake city. This was an incredibly good find as this unit was one of a few that would soon leave the Vermont's roster to join the GMTX lease fleet. |

Heading up a display freight is the first GP40 built for the B&O. Bearing a similar look to the GP40Ps of former affiliate Jersey Central Railroad, its number picks up where the last CNJ Geep left off at 3683. |
