P&R Freight House
Title:  P&R Freight House
Description:  One of the few surviving freight houses of this design from the Philadelphia & Reading Railway. This one is kept in excellent condition and today is in use as a community center for the town of Milton. The station was built in 1890 and stands across the street from the former PRR/P&E passenger station. The Reading's tracks have long been removed but trains still operate through town on the parallel PRR line, now operated by Norfolk Southern.

P&E Passenger Depot
Title:  P&E Passenger Depot
Description:  Built in 1881 by the Philadelphia & Erie Railroad, this handsome brick station now serves as the town's police department and is kept in excellent condition like the former Reading station across the street. While passenger trains of the Pennsylvania Railroad no longer stop here, the depot still witnesses the passing of daily Norfolk Southern freights.

A replica of the first tank car ACF produced stands outside the plant for all to see. BSOR 107
Title:  BSOR 107
Description:  This locomotive may have seen better days but it is definitely worth taking a second look. Originally built by Alco for the Lehigh Valley Railroad as number 151, this unit was received by the Valley in the summer of 1942, a time when our nation was mixed up in the great conflict that was World War II. One of the oldest examples of Lehigh Valley diesel power, it now sits with other out of service Alco switchers along the Buffalo Southern Railroad awaiting its turn for restoration.

CMRR 400
Title:  CMRR 400
Description:  Our first stop on the way up to Vermont was in Kingston, NY, home of the Catskill Mountain Railroad. Among the many interesting historic pieces stored along the old Ulster & Delaware line through the Catskills was this old Alco RS-1 in the midst of restoration. Built in 1950 for the Wisconsin Central, the unit came to CMRR for the startup of operations in the 1980s. Last run in 1987, it appears that future operation of the locomotive could be a reality due to the recently applied FRA mandated reflective striping applied to the frame.

CMRR 401
Title:  CMRR 401
Description:  The regular power for the excursion operations out of Kingston, CMRR 401 awaits the fall foliage season and the many visitors that it brings. Constructed by Alco in 1950 for the Illinois Terminal Railroad, the locomotive would gain its current number upon acquisition by the Green Mountain Railroad of Bellows Falls, VT, where it would work with two other RS-1s on the line between Rutland, VT and North Walpole, NH. It came to the CMRR in 1988 and has been working the east end of the U&D ever since.

SNC 52
Title:  SNC 52
Description:  Saratoga & North Creek Railway BL-2 52 was built in 1949 by EMD for northern Maine's Bangor & Aroostook Railroad, where it served into the 1980s hauling freight, mainly agricultural and forest products. Iowa Pacific acquired the unit for the start of the SNC operation from a private owner who had it stored at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, WI for many years. It was restored to operation and given a new paint job in the midwest before heading east to the former D&H Adirondack branch, where it has since become one of the main locomotives used for the operation.
