Old Meets New |
Description: |
At first glance it would appear that the steam train arriving at the New Freedom station is older than the preserved Pennsy cabin car maintained for static display on the adjacent siding. However in this situation it is the complete opposite. |

Pennsy Cabin Cars |
Description: |
Both constructed by their former owner at Altoona, these two restored cabin cars recall the days of the Pennsy's operation of the Northern Central Railway. The one to the left, the younger of the two, was constructed in late 1951 with a more streamlined cupola and is classified as an N8. The other was constructed in 1941, a few months before the United States' entry into World War II, and is classified as an N5B. |

Towards York |
Description: |
Looking north on the old Northern Central at the old New Freedom station area and yard. The track to the left next to the station and cabooses is the PRR line heading north towards Glen Rock, Hanover Junction, and York, today operated by Steam into History. The Stewartstown's GE diesel and a former MPA flatcar sit quiety on the beginning of the STRT line towards its namesake town, branching off to the right in the distance. |
