DLW 426
After many years of static display next to the Steamtown turntable, former DL&W SC 426 has been brought back to life by the shop forces of current owner Delaware Lackwanna Railroad. Still retaining its original prime mover, this unit is now the oldest operating diesel locomotive in the United States. Constructed in 1935 by EMC.

Tim Fennell General Lackawanna #426’s original Winton 201-A engine was replaced in the early 1960s with an EMD 8-567B engine. The modified exhaust manifold gives away the rebuilt. Still great to see it in operation. Thanks for the great photos. 9/18/2015 3:16:27 PM
John Teeter General Oh well; it doesn't matter if it's got a 201 or a 567 -- she's still a grand old lady and good to see her running. 3/10/2016 8:52:35 PM
