Contoocook Bridge
According to the local historical society, this is the oldest wooden covered bridge that was constructed for railroad purposes. Built in 1889, it is believed to have been the design of Jonathan Parker Snow of the Boston & Maine Railroad. While it no longer sees the passage of trains, it serves as a walkway over the river flowing through town, held in place by the granite abutments from a previous bridge at this location.
