Title:  Waiting for Departure
Description:  Upon arrival in Boyertown, we found the Colebrookdale Railroad awaiting to depart with a St. Patrick's Day special for Pottstown. Thanks to the efforts of the Colebrookdale Railroad Preservation Trust, this former Reading Company branch still sees regular passenger operations. While Boyertown is the northern terminus these days, the line once extended further to serve the villages of Barto and Bally.

EBGR 7236
Title:  EBGR 7236
Description:  Colebrookdale Railroad 7236 stands ready for departure at Boyertown station. The first generation EMD was constructed in 1959 as part of the Pennsylvania Railroad's massive GP9 fleet that once exceeded two hundred units. Numbered 7236, it served the PRR in freight operations, working through Penn Central and into Conrail. During the Conrail era this unit was rebuilt into a GP10, one of many so refurbished in this manner in an effort to extend their service lives. After retirement from Big Blue, the Pennsy veteran bounced around to several different owners before coming to Boyertown at the start of 2016. It has since become the primary locomotive for Colebrookdale operations, treating visitors to a view of this area of Berks County.

Description:  Snowflakes swirl around this former Conrail GP10 at the Raritan Central's yard in the middle of Raritan Center. Originally built by GMD in 1957 as New York Central 6065. Renumbered as 7465, it would also run for Penn Central and Conrail before being rebuilt to a GP10 and renumbered again, this time as Conrail 7545. Retired and sold into private ownership in the 1980s, it would serve on both the freight trains of the C&S Railroad and excursions of Rail Tours Inc. at Jim Thorpe, PA before heading to New Jersey and its current owner.

Title:  CTR 7580
Description:  CTR 7580 was originally constructed by EMD i` 1957 for the Pennsylvania Railroad as GP-9 7128, carrying that number through Penn Central and into Conrail. Under the ownership of Big Blue, it was rebuilt as a GV10 and renumbered 7580. After retirement in the 1980s, the Geep was sold into private ownership and worked freight and passenger trains on the ex-CNJ line out of Jib Thorpe, PA. Its last place of operation was the Pennsy Supply quarry at Annville, PA, the reason for all the white markings all over the former Conrail paint scheme.
